How is it already time for Christmas goodies?! Well maybe it really isn’t time yet, but all the Christmas decorations are up at home… so I feel as though it’s time to start making my favorite seasonal goodies 🙂 I’ve been trying to hold off on all the seasonal indulgences, and so far I’ve done pretty well! I love pumpkin bars and pumpkin pie, but beyond that, I don’t go too crazy for all the fall and pumpkin spice treats! But, Christmas goodies get me EVERY TIME!! Ugh, they’re so good! Mostly because a lot of them involve chocolate and who doesn’t love chocolate?! Some of my favorite Christmas goodies are peanut clusters, M&M pretzel treats, and Italian cookies! Those are some of my family’s staples! Peanut clusters are a given for sure, and are pretty much always in stock when the Christmas season rolls around LOL! But after that, it just depends on what we’re feeling like and if my mom and I want to try something new or stick to some of our classics. I will say though, we’ve never been too crazy for classic frosted sugar cookies.

With the holiday season coming in full swing, I wanted to make some Christmas goodies of my own! We have never really made fudge, so I thought why not try something new?! And so far, my brother has already had 4 pieces of this recipe! I finished making them about a half hour ago, so they must be good! 🙂 I also wanted to try my best to make something that isn’t going to break the bank when it comes to calories. Now I wouldn’t say this recipe is “healthy” by any means, but it is what I would call a “lighter” version of a lot of your traditional fudge recipes! I swapped out regular frosting for sugar-free, which was really the only “healthy” change I made. With the holiday season coming, I’m not going to stress about hitting my macros at all the holiday gatherings, because it’s important to enjoy all these seasonal goodies and time with family! However, I’m still trying to save calories where I can cause then I can have 3 pieces instead of 1 LOL. Making some of those swaps in your recipes can really help to reduce a lot of calories, without sacrificing any taste, so it’s a win-win! So let’s get onto how you can make this yummy fudge!

First off, here are the specific ingredients that I used:


STEP 1: Line an 8-inch pan with foil, leaving an overhang at 2 opposite ends. This will make it easier to take out of the pan! Spray foil with cooking spray.


STEP 2: Empty all of the chocolate chips into a large microwave-safe bowl and microwave uncovered on high for 1 minute.


STEP 3: Empty the container on frosting into the bowl with the chocolate chips and microwave for 30 seconds.


STEP 4: Mix the frosting and chocolate chips together until you’ve reached a smooth consistency. If needed, microwave for additional 15-second increments until it’s all smoothed out. Add in peppermint extract and stir.


STEP 5: Put 1/3 of the mixture into 2 smaller bowls, so now you have 3 bowls with 1/3 of the mixture in each. Use red food coloring in one bowl, and green in the other. Stir until you’ve reached the color of each that you want! tauar8bptaatwncbq8crdg.jpg

STEP 6: Put spoonfuls of each color into your pan randomly, so it looks like you have a bunch of red, white, and green globs! (This is where I messed up, I didn’t realize that I didn’t have red food coloring so I only have white and green. And then I found some pink food coloring and added that in at the end, and it worked fine! I can’t really tell the color difference.)


STEP 7: Using a table knife or a toothpick, swirl it all together until you’ve reached the pattern you want! (This is where I added in the pink food coloring and as you can see it looks just fine!)


STEP 8: Refrigerate until hardened, about an hour! Then take it out of the pan and cut into 8 rows by 8 rows.


And you’re all done! Pretty easy right?! Only takes about 20 minutes to put it together and then you just have to let it harden, cut it up, and eat it! 🙂 I recommend storing it in the freezer to keep it in a solid form. These are pretty small pieces, but fudge is so rich that you don’t need a much bigger piece! You are welcome to cut it up however you would like though! Peppermint Swirl Christmas Fudge

  • 1 bag white chocolate chips
  • 1 container sugar-free frosting
  • 1 tsp. peppermint extract
  • red and green food coloring


  1. Line an 8-inch square pan with foil and spray foil with cooking spray. Leave overhand on the two opposite ends of the pan to make it easier to lift out later.
  2. Empty bag of chocolate chips into large microwave-safe bowl and microwave uncovered on high for 1 minute.
  3. Empty frosting into bowl and microwave on high for another 30 seconds. Stir chips and frosting together until consistent. Microwave for an additional 15 seconds at a time if needed.
  4. Add in peppermint extract and stir.
  5. Place 1/3 of the fudge mixture each into two smaller bowls, leaving 1/3 of the mixture in bowl. Use red food coloring in one bowl and green in the other, adding a couple drops at a time and stirring until you’ve obtained the desired color.
  6. Add spoonfuls of each of the red, green and white mixtures into the pan. Use a table knife or toothpick to swirl colors together until the desired pattern in accomplished.
  7. Refrigerate uncovered until set, about 1 hour.
  8. Remove from pan by lifting foil. Peel foil away from fudge and cut into 8 rows by 8 rows.
